Hi, I’m Fran
I’m a passionate, certified baby and toddler sleep consultant.
I’ve worked with families for almost 10 years, including 7 years as a nanny specialising in caring for babies under two. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of families, baby temperaments and sleep needs.
I live in beautiful Wellington, New Zealand. When I’m not working with amazing clients I’m usually swimming in the sea, grabbing a coffee and walking around the bays or out for a yummy dinner!
I truly LOVE what I do – it brings me so much joy supporting parents to feel calm and confident about their child’s sleep and giving them strategies that not only feel right for their family, but also strengthen their bond with their little one. It’s such a privilege to get to work with families each day and do what I do, for them to put their trust in me completely, and to guide and support them to better sleep.
My approach is responsive, evidence-based and attachment-focused. I believe it’s incredibly important to look at the bigger picture when it comes to sleep. Sleep is never just about schedules or settling techniques; it’s about the whole child and the whole family. This means taking into account your little one’s individual sleep needs, development, temperament, connection, attachment, emotional needs, sensory preferences, environmental preferences, sleep hygiene, general health and red flags, your parental style, values and family dynamics, and so much more!
As a holistic sleep consultant, I don't offer traditional sleep training, which means I don't use any cry-it-out methods or strategies that have forced or timed parental withdrawal of support. The term sleep training can mean different things depending on who you ask. For me, it refers to behaviour modification-based strategies, aimed at “teaching” babies or toddlers to self-soothe and sleep independently, usually with limited or no parental response.
Understandably, one of the most common questions I’m asked is:
“But, if you don’t sleep train, then what do you do?”
The answer is: I work alongside you to gently uncover and address the root causes of your family’s sleep challenges, then together, we co-create a responsive, attachment-focused, and developmentally appropriate sleep plan tailored to your child and your goals.
Because every child is unique, no two plans look the same. What works beautifully for one family may look completely different for another. There truly is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to babies, toddlers, and their sleep.
If you're looking for truly gentle, evidence-based, and developmentally- and age-appropriate sleep support, you’re in the right place.
We cannot ‘teach’ a baby or toddler to sleep; it’s a biological function like breathing or feeding. However, there is so much we can do to optimise and facilitate sleep and make sleep feel calmer, easier, and more connected.
My passion is to educate parents on how sleep works so that they feel empowered to navigate their families sleep needs and eliminate sleep anxiety. I always want to leave families feeling worry-free and confident about their little one’s sleep.
Part of my holistic approach is looking at the whole family’s sleep; parent sleep is important too! After all, you can’t pour from an empty cup! Quality, restful sleep is my priority, not just for little one’s but for everyone in your family unit. Sleep deprivation is incredibly challenging, I'm here to help you navigate through the storm!
If you are currently struggling and feeling overwhelmed with your baby or toddler’s sleep – I can offer you clarity, empathy, and truly gentle sleep solutions that work and feel right for your family!
Let’s get you back to waking well-rested and refreshed, giving you the energy to parent the way you want and enjoy the little things in life once again!
The only negative I hear from clients is that they wish they had worked with me sooner!
You’ll never regret investing in improving your family’s sleep.
